The Chairman of Regional State Administration Oleksandr Vilkul held session of council of rectors of high education institutions of Dnipropetrovs’k region. During session Oleksandr Vilkul noted, it is necessary to create in the region the system of support and development of scientific potential of Dnipropetrovs’k region.

«Science development is motive power of economy. Having such potential we can speak about strategy of industrial-innovative development of the region. In particular it is uses and introductions of scientific workings out in economy of the region, creation of high technology and resource saving manufactures. However, we need strategy of preparation and returning of successful scientists for work in domestic economy», - noted Oleksandr Vilkul.

Now, thanks to common efforts of all branches of the regional power, in the regional budget support of young scientists is increased in three times this year. Only the half-million of UAH is allocated for competition «Young scientists for Dnipropetrovs’k region».

«We will support young scientists, encourage them to active scientific activity, organise regional competitions and international conferences. Now we prepare Internet conference of our talented youth with their colleagues from Russia and America», - told the Chairman of Regional State Administration.

Also, Oleksandr Vilkul noticed, that it is necessary to form more detailed state order and enrol students taking into account requirements of economy on the basis of system of labour market forecasting.

The Inquiry. There are 85 high education institutions in Dnipropetrovs’k region. In 2009-2010 educational years at HEI study 188.8 thousand students, 7787 from them are students of preferential categories. At HEI of I-II accreditation levels work 3365 teachers, at HEI of ²²² - ²V levels of accreditation work 7652 teachers. From them 882 are doctors of sciences, 5192 are candidates of sciences.
